Charis Tazumi is a singer-songwriter based out of Victoria B.C, who shares her most heartfelt thoughts through wistful instrumentations and compelling lyricism. She is inspired by a blend of folk, pop, indie, alternative and RnB styles, all contributing to her compelling and charming sound. In 2024, she released her debut album “In Subtle Ways” and is excited to release more music soon!
Charis' debut album "In Subtle Ways" is out now, and captures the subtle yet transformative moments of her life, weaving in narratives of delightful over imagination, the sweetness of starting a life with someone, and the feeling of finally waking up.
The project is a labour of love, and is the beautiful culmination of a year of collaboration with friends and musicians. While the album is inspired by various genres such as folk, pop, indie, and alternative, the through line is Charis’ authenticity as a songwriter and the ethereal and compelling nature of her melodies. “In Subtle Ways” delves into the feeling of connection with those closest to her, discovering her values, noticing subtle and gorgeous moments, and putting them to paper.
